Why a clear ledger comes before automation

A reminder can be perfectly timed and still point to the wrong state. Before a product automates the work, the circle needs a record everyone can read.

Start with shared meaning

“Paid,” “pending,” “missed,” and “payout” should each mean one thing in the product. If a planner and member interpret a state differently, adding more notifications only repeats the confusion faster.

Keep the human decision visible

Then earn the right to automate

Once the ledger is legible, reminders and summaries can reduce administrative work without pretending the software has made a decision the circle still owns.
